ah, home*
For a long time. Yes. At home there was a cute little record shot by the name of Rech Records. He would spend his life there, fingering through countless records way back from the sixties. An hour later he'd come home, records stacked so high he couldn't see over them. It always made his mother laugh, so he wondered if this Strawberry Field Records would be as good. It sounded pretty cute, and happy. But with record stores that meant they were serious when it came to knowing their records. Or sometimes, it would be a screamo music shop, with an eerie name like this one. It was a Sunday. No class. He was sick of it. Only been here a week and he hated what he was in for. It was mostly home-sickness; Minnesota isn't very New York City-ish. But it was exciting, being in suck a different place. But once you realize you're stuck there and won't be seeing home for a while... that's when you get a stomach ache. Alex Martin was trying to get out and see a little more of New York. And this was exactly what he was looking for. A record shop... ah, home. His hands were immediately stuck into the pocket of his black hoodie. Zipped up to his chest, he strode quietly in black skinnies and fat high-tops. He tossed his head as he looked up at the neon sign--Strawberry Field Records-- and nibbled on one of the brass piercings on his lower lip. Pressing his fingers against the glass, he pushed it forward, giving him the force to open the door. A bell chimed anonymously, a small woman stood at the table. She smiled at him. He nodded with a small smile, relived that this wasn't some hard-core place where the people chewed you out for being new. He was almost used to it. Most of the people in New York went to the same places every day. He witnessed so much of it that he was pondering on the idea of experimenting with it. Come back each day, tally the people he saw the day before. That sort of thing. So he looked around, seeing a few hanging televisions holding pictures of music videos; a guy jumping around with a guitar, then a girl flashed up on the screen, then it went to the singer. He brushed down the isle, looking at the small signs that indicated the different types of music and albums on the shelves. But no old records. Alex sighed unhappily.

It Seems Like A Lifetime, Is Passing Us By
So it was one one of those days the drinking/drugs/fuck buddies had decided to actually hang out without any of the above included. How Keatie and Jay had ended up going to Strawberry Field Records she didn't know. It was something spontaneous, like when you start a conversation about how Bill Clinton was better than George Bush, and end the conversation with talk about blueberry muffin. A little like that, only different. Kate got along with Jay anyway, she didn't feel like he was one of those people who were constantly breathing down your neck, like when you have a visitor and you use your own computer and they breath down your neck and read your emails. Yeah, Jay was nothing like that. Thank God. Keatie walked in the doors and heard the bell go off. Oh creepy, it was like a place where all those biker dudes go right? Well these people didn't look so bikerish to her. No sir-ee, they looked pretty plain. Keatie stepped inside slowly, looking back at Jay with her eyebrows raised in a "why did we come here again." She looked back at the people in here. Fat ginger lady, scrawny boy, old pervert, and cute emo... Hold on!! That cute emo boy was Alex!!!!!
She squealed loudly and practically pranced over there hugging Alex tightly. "ALEXYY WALEXYY" She smiled and gave him a quick peck on the cheek as people looked at her like she was insane. Nice way to draw attention to yourself huh? She motioned Jay to come over, smiling widely. JAYYYY, come ovveeerrr hhheeerrrreee. She took Alexs' hand and drug him over to where Jay was anyway, despite what she had said. Jay, this is my good friend Alex. Alex, this is my "good" friend Jay. She giggled a little, clapping. She was in a good mood today, and of course Jay was amazingly good company, so it was hard not to get along with him. He was great to make out with and fool around with, and fun to party with but also someone she liked to spend time with. Alex wasn't her fuck buddy or anything, nothing like that really, although they nearly got that close. She did have feelings for Alex though, feelings that ran a lot deeper than anything sexual or psychical.
She actually wondered if Jay and Alex would get along. Jay could be chatty and kind of. Odd, at times. But then again, so could Alex. Although he was more or a corny dork, he was her corny dork. (<33) Jay was just a ladies man in himself, not only was he amazingly sexy as hell (like Alex), but he had all those sexy tattoo's and he could be a chatterbox at times. But Keatie liked that when they weren't, well, yeah. So, standing there between the two boys, she wondered if they really would hit it off like she expected, or hit each other to win her affection. The thought, of course, was just a joke in itself, but it was a cute mental image.

Jay needed to prove too Keatie that he was more then just a drinking friend / party friend / fuck friend /the list of bad things could go on forever, they had hung out. Actually, they weren't necessarily "bad" so to say, they where just not necessarily good; just any of those names where things that you would also associate a "user" with and Jay didn't want to come off as one of them. After there night together where they drank and hung out together and did some things and what not he had made a pathetic little goal not to loose contact with her. Besides, he thought that they could be really good friends. So he called her up today and they ended up talking for awhile about many various things, then somehow ended up here at Strawberry fields. He couldn’t even remember why they chose this place of all places, but Kate and Jay where strolling into the music store, the little bell ringing above there head as they entered. When she asked her his question he raised an eyebrow then shrugged “ I dunno. Where else is there to go –” he was going to say more, none of it really being all that important but she had cut him off to shriek some name that he wasn’t familiar with. His eyebrow continued to be raised and a flood of thoughts had ran through his head.
First of all, she told him there wasn’t any other boyfriend the night before; was he about to get his ass kicked by a kid that he didn’t even know? Was it a funny little joke all a long? Had she known his man whore past and decided to play a trick where she had a affair with him so to say; then brought him to meet her boyfriend and he got his ass kicked so he could learn his lesson about messing around with people that he didn’t know? No, it couldn’t be. She had told him that there wasn’t any other guy, not like he liked her like that or anything, he was just concerned about his ass not getting kicked and his beautiful face not getting bruised. Yknow, she could be lying, after all she was drunk and high when she told him that. And at that very moment he thought his worries where going to spin out of control and he was going to go insane and die on the spot before he could even get beat up, but he kept that straight Jay mask like face glued to his face.
But then she told him to go over there, so being the obedient little fiend that he was he took a few steps. But shortly after the hyper active girl dragged the kid that he didn’t know at all over there. He smiled a little, putting his face in his palm for just a moment before extending it out to the kid, being the total hand-shake old school gentleman he was. “Hey Alex, I’m Jay incase you haven’t heard” He gave a smirk over to Keatie and how she described him. Well, if him and her where “good friends” with the shit they’ve done together he had to wonder what her definition of “good friends” was for herself and Alex. But he wasn’t going to get pissed off or anything about it, because he didn’t have any real emotional connection to her like that. She was a really, really cool girl and pretty much was always making him smile. And he didn’t have one problem with the kid standing in front of him, if Kate was cool with him he would probably be cool with him too. He was just way curious about Kate and Alex’s situation.

ah, home* Alex had become distressed in being unable to find any old labels. I mean, he was in New York, but seriously. There were always these little freak record stores with billions of old records. He would become royally pissed if he didn't find an Egyptian age record soon. So he went up to the counter, and rested his knuckles against the edge of it cutely. Cocking his head, he asked politely; Do you have any old records? The small woman made a face. Like, not a CD old? She wrinked her forehead. Yeah. Like vinyl. He smiled, his too th clamping onto the inside of his snake bite. They were beginning to irritate him; just like this record shop shit was. Then the girl gave her this 'what the hell is vinyl?' look, and he smiled softly, rather frustrated. Nevermind, sorry for the trouble. He said, rolling his eyes as he scuffed on back to the CDs he'd been fingering through. As soon as he got there, though, he heard a shriek and looked up from his search. Thin, delicate arms wrapped around him from behind, and Alex tried to turn around to see who this chick was. alexy walexy? What the hell was this? His electric eyes finally say to forehead of Keatie DeVille, and his cheek was attacked by her cute little lips. He smiled, scrubbing his cheek like it was his mother kissing him. Keatie what are you-- She clapped her hands together, mentioning someone else's name. Alex frowned. This is my good friend Jay. Alex forced himself to smile softly. He say the guy's hadn jut out, and he took it firmly, shaking it and then running the hand through the hair behind his head. Like he was almost embarrassed, but really wasn't. Just stunned to have been attacked by Kate, when she was with another guy. Alex, hi. He said, almost softly. I mean, you could definitely hear it, but not like super-attacked-hearing-loss loud. He didn't want to admit that he was intimidated by this guy. He was tall, covered in interesting tattoos, and looked a little freakishly... nice. Like he and Keatie were good friends. He wouldn't be able to tell if they were screw friends or whatever; but he must drink; because Kate really liked too, he knew that. So... what are you guys doing here...? He said, his small chuckle of a noise was completely forced; he didn't know how he was supposed to react to Keatie's "good" friend. What was her relationship with him? If life really loved him, it would throw that fact on a platter and serve it up for him. But life was quite cruel, even though it had it's few perks. So whatever. Alex had his hands in his pockets and he was rocking back on the heels of his fat black high-tops. They were his favorite pair, next to his neon pink and green and yellow ones. He looked from Keatie to Jay, trying still to figure out what h was supposed to do, say or how he was supposed to react to this silly little situation.

So... what are you guys doing here...? She smiled and bounced up and down a little, still perky and alert, like she had won the lottery or something. I'm not sure, me and Jay were just hanging out and poof! We're here! Isn't that right Jay? She scrunched up her nose and smiled in a cute little way, like a bunny or something. Yeah, she wasn't high, but she might as well had been. She looked back at the store before her mouth smacking her lips. YOU BOTH SHOULD BE FRIENDS!!!! She did the whole clapping thing again and squealed. THEY HAVE MUSIC I LIKE! She ended up skipping away from them, just kind of leaving them both there. as it cruel of her? Nah. She was pretty sure they would get a long just fine, and plus she did see some CD's she liked. Like METRO STATION!! And NICKELBACK!! She was piling the CD's up, like she was some kind of coin collector or something, not even looking at prices. Pah, she would just use her handy dandy credit card, and pay for all this crap. And what would her daddy do? Top her credit up again. Why? Because he loved her and wanted to see her happy. This was his way of being a good father. Great huh? Yeah.
She didn't look up to see if Alex and Jay were interacting or not, but she really hoped so. Alex needed someone to talk too and stuff, guy friends. That kind of stuff. Why? Because her little friend was new, and he needed some friends. And Mr Jay and Mr Martin were kind of alike right? They both looked kind of... Uh... Well she didn't know. They were both people she wouldn't really out with, but she was beginning to accept the fact it was okay to have more than one kind of clique of friends. So did she mind being seen in public with Jay, her "special" friend. And Alex, her other special friend (not in a Jay special, but as in special how much she cared about him.) Hell no she didn't. She was amazing like that. Not really. She had just had a lot of caffeine this morning, and by a lot, it was a lot. Like, five cups of coffee kind. She started flipping through more of the music, wanting to keep glancing up. Maybe she could invite them back to her place? And then they could all hang out and stuff! But bad things might happen, and she didn't want that. What if a random fight broke out over like, nothing? Bad thing about Keatie and Jay was they loved to drink, and she had no doubt they would bring on the booze, and what about her little Alexy Walexy? She couldn't leave him alone all sober. Or maybe he would take the alcohol? Aw, she didn't want to do that too him. That would be bad. CORRUPTION even!
The relationship between them both were a lot different as well. Jay, her fuck buddy. Happy with that, no strings, good friends. Alex, not fuck buddy. Fine with that, feelings, good friends, feelings, feelings, feelings. Pretty sad actually considering her FUCK buddy and the guy she liked were meeting each other. Whatever though. She bit her lip, finally raising her head to see what the two of them were doing.

As always Jays mind was buzzing with possibilities of what could be going on in other peoples minds. Though he seemed so confident, so smooth as he shook back at Alex's hand he had to wonder a few worried thoughts. He took his hand back, placing it in his pocket. Was the kid nervous or offended? How Alex ran his hand through his hair afterwords and spoke so softly, had Jay thinking maybe he was coming off to strong? He tried to think back to what he said, and what he did, but he couldn't remember a thing that was a bit to over powering. Maybe nobody shook hands anymore, but he didn't want to go up and hug him; because that indeed would be a little too overpowering especially because he was just meeting this kid. He shook his head, just going to continue on with the whole conversation, trying to be as casual and confident as possible.
But still he was silent and kind of blank, listing to the words. Kate seemed so excited about the whole thing. Like there was some kind of magic click that was going to go on between all three of them and they where ail magically going to become besties. Jay didn't have a problem with it, he just needed to find something to talk about that they could all talk about with quite ease before that could happen; finding that his responsibility. Alex seemed more shy and quiet, maybe even a bit scared. To him it seemed that Alex was picking up the awkward vibes that Jay was oh so desperately trying to ignore. It was awkward really. But Jay didn't know Alex and Kates relationship. So though he was semi-judging the whole situation, he continued to keep in mind that he didn't know either of them that well and that not everything is what it seems. He zoned back in, remembering something about why they where here. "Pretty much,
" he said to Keaties explanation but decided to continue on. We where just walking around and I wanted to pick up a CD and see there band shirts. I really haven't seen all that many music stores anymore, which is a bummer because I do like to support the bands I like every once and awhile. " he stopped for a second, smiling lightly. Oh Jay could ramble. " But yeah. Basically, I wanted to check this place out. I've lived here all my life and never really have" He laughed at Kate's clapping thing, she really knew how to lighten up a situation. " Kate, we're like already besties. I mean, duh. Look at us." he said with a laugh, playing along with the whole thing. Jay didn't have a problem with Alex, like said before. He just wanted to lighten the air, he hated hearing those awkward 'Soo...'s. Jay was pretty much in deep thought once Keatie left, though his face calm and relaxed. He needed to say something that would just be awkward and something to remember him by. He was normally one to do that, but at the moment he was having a bit of trouble finding a phrase that would be perfect for the situation. He bit inside of his lip, and adjusted his bright purple shirt. When Kate left he looked to Alex. That was the one thing that he knew they had in common. " So, how do you know Kate?" he asked, looking over to him. " Are you guys like potheads and smoke mad blunts and sex it up every night?" he said completely joking around. He did a tiny laugh again to prove it; hating it when he laughed too hard at his own jokes he kept it under control. Not sure about the boy in front of him sense of humor he cleared himself up. " Totally kidding about the second part. But feel free to answer my sad attempt as a conversation starter" he hoped things wouldn't be awkward, and to try to prevent it furthermore he flashed that classic Jay Craig Moore smile. ooc shit post x2. this time while i was spellchecking i clicked the wrong one by accident and i cant find it at all. so ignore the random word in onee of my sentences ahaha xD [/blockquote]

ah, home* Alex chuckled slightly, when Kate brought up them being friends. He liked the way she got excited over the smallest things. I mean, he pictured this little French girl giggling like she did. It totally fit, and he couldn't help but react with a simply chuckle. It wasn't shy or anything, because he wasn't so much shy as he was before. But Kate seemed to have expectations for them, being friends. So Alex thought 'what the hell'. This guy didn't look all that bad. He looked like a joker; one that girl would swarm. He shrugged his immense thinking off and smiled. Yeah, same here. I've only been here for a little over a week, so... just decided to drop in. Alex replied to Jay. This place doesn't look so bad for a small room with the name of Strawberry Field Records. He said, letting a small laugh emit his vocal-bound throat. He wasn't so nervous, really. Just a little intimidated and caught off guard. He was just fingering through crap and in came this obnoxious French girl he adored with this smooth guy. What should he think, really? They were just friends? Yeah, what ever loser. WEF...? Nevermind. He could tell almost by the instant he walked in with her that they were party-friends, if not more. Keatie had even told him she didn't go for the tattooed emo-sorta-ish type. So what was she doing with them, hrm? Alex couldn't help but let out a small laugh when Jay spoke to Keatie. Yeah, can't you tell? He said. He was lacking his powerful ability to control words today. He was usually all over them, like flies on a poor horse. He scotted to face Keatie, who had already began a pile of CDs she'd probably brag about next time he came over. He shook his head of amusement. But then Jay asked a question, and he answered averagely. Oh, I met her in the park, she showed me around. I'm pretty mentally-challenged when it comes to finding my way around. He said, grinning. He liked this guy, he was a real joker, I guess you could say, right? He made a joek then, and he coudl tell with the small laugh that followed. Oh yeah, we're like major smokers. Can't go another day without sneaking over and freaking with her, He laughed. Nah, I kid. It wasn't as pathetic as I've tried on some, trust meh. Alex said. He probably sounded like a total fruit-cake, you know? He was probably a dork compared to this guy. But he liked Jay, he was cool. He knew that Kate would be all up in his grill after this about them, all giddy and crap about them being friends. He would just laugh, right?
