If there was one thing that bothered Lennon Kingston it was silence. Over the past twenty one years he'd become accustomed to a certain noise level, and it wasn't anything close to the calm dormitories here are Waverly University. His first instinct was to put a record on, pop a couple lortab, and zone out. However, the student in the room next door had made a habit of reporting him and Lennon really couldn't handle getting kicked out of the dorms. He made enough money doing session work to pay for on campus housing, but not anything else, and the last thing he wanted to do was ask his father for money. That would be a quite the low blow for Lennon, seeing as he'd been living on his won since he graduated high school. Right now his life was nothing more than a lucky streak. He'd had so many gigs he hadn't had to buss tables in almost a year. Things seemed to be looking up for him. Maybe he'd be able to snag another recording contract... if he was lucky.

W ith nothing better to do, Lennon decided that venturing out of his dorm was the only option. Usually when he went out and about his intended destination was a bar or club. Today was a tad bit different. It was too early in the day for him to start drinking, even if he had been drunk around this same time yesterday. So, instead of hitting up his favorite bar he left his small dorm room and made his way toward to the local record shop. He wanted noise, and music. So, he simply bum around, listen to records and maybe even buy a couple to add to his collection. Not that he really needed 400 plus vinyl albums and 300 plus CDs, but when it came to music, Lennon could never have too much. In fact, he could never have enough. He had everything from The Beatles to The New York Dolls. That may not sound like a wide variety to some, but for Lennon it's pretty damn drastic to go from the most popular pop band in history to one of New York's punk bands who where known for dressing entirely in drag. Being the picky person he is, Lennon figured that was a pretty wide variety. Care to argue it? I wouldn't advise it, unless, of course, you know as much about music. (Which is very rare, might I ad.) If not, I suggest you keep your opinions to yourself. You'll get along with Lennon much better that way.

The local shop that Lennon frequented just happened to be named after one of the most popular Beatles tune of all time. (Not the best choice in Lennon's mind, but certainly not bad.) Strawberry Fields Records wasn't too far from campus for students t walk. So, as you can imagine, Lennon frequented this little shop. In fact, any money he didn't spend on liquor, school, or pills was spent in here. He was one of their best customers, hands down. They even knew him by name. Which is why, as he walked in, the girl at the counter greeted with a smile. "Hey," He said and nodded her way, before heading toward the racks and racks of music. What was he in the mood for today? There was no telling. At first he browsed the blues racks, picking up CDs by Robert Johnson and Big Bill Broonzy. However, something about that didn't suit his mood. So, he moved on. Soon he found himself in the indie section, holding the new album by The Kooks, entitled Konk. He'd heard it before, and knew it was amazing, but was it worth paying for? As he stared at the back of the plastic case and wondered people wandered in and out of the shop. He payed them no mind. It wasn't like on of them would suddenly decide that a conversation with him was a good idea. Well, they might, but that thought hadn't crossed his mind just yet. He was too involved in the music around him.
