coffee break ; After a long day of going to classes, meeting people and working out it was time for a coffee break. This was the one time in Lo's day where she didn't have to worry about rushing, being late, or trying to impress someone. It was her time, and she wished she could have more of it.
Instead of her usual routine of hailing a cab or taking a subway, Lo decided to walk to Starbuks on that sunny afternoon. It was a beautiful day and she wanted to take advantage of her short time off. Her mind wonderd as she made her way down the busy streets of New York City. Hearing and seeing the sights and sounds of her fine city was one of Lo's favourtie things about her day.
Lo continued on her journy to the Starbucks. The people who worked there had become like family. Whenever she had time off, she was there. She had her table that she always sat at, and she always odered the same thing. Lo finilly arrived at the Starbucks with a grin on her face.
Ding the bell on the top of the door rang as she enterd the building. It was a fermilar noise she had heard daily. She walked up to the counter and looked at the menu, even though she got the same thing every time, it was nice to make it look like she would change her order. The man behind the counter was tall, blonde and pretty. He wasn't one of the usual cahseers, but he was kinda cute. Can I help you? He asked. A large coffee please, Lauren responded. She never used Starbucks lingo, even though she knew it oh so well. The man got her coffee, she payed him, and took a seat by the window. She looked out at New York. What a place to live.

Music lightly radiated throughout Clea's ears, as she walked along the New York City side walk with her hot pink iPod cleverly placed in the right side of her jeans. After having a hectic day moving in all of her new stuff, Clea had gone for a less complicated outfit. She was adorning an off the shoulder long sleeve sweater, with black and white horizontal stripes, and a pair of skinny jeans with super high top black and white converses over them.
As she walked along the streets, Clea observed the various stores, and buildings, trying her best to make a map of the city in her head. While walking along the street, Clea noticed a Starbucks and immediately had a craving for caffiene, so she hastened her pace, pulling her ipod out of her pocket as she did.
Before she opened the door, Clea turned her ipod off and wrapped the headphones around the device before slipping it back into her pocket. As soon as she walked inside, the aroma of coffee came over her, and Clea walked quickly over to the counter. Not even scanning the menu, Clea looked at the cashier saying in her somewhat peppy voice, "Hi, can I have a grande nonfat mocha frappucinno?", pulling some money out of her pocket as she did.
After she was helped, Clea walked away from the counter; she looked over the shop. She didn't want to go and walk around the city at the moment, it was definitely time for her to sit down and relax. Much to her dismay though, it appeared all of the tables were taken. "Damn it." Clea thought to herself, until she saw a girl sitting at a table by herself.
As a smile appeared upon her face, Clea walked up to the girl and in a friendly voice exclaimed, "Hi, I'm Clea, do you mind if I sit here? There aren't any more available seats."

coffee break ; Lo took a sip of her coffee. Not realizing how hot it was, she took a gulp of it and, of course, burnt her toung. She made a face and shook her head. Now she needed something cool to help heal her toung. She left her coffee on the table, and walked up to the counter once more. Can I get a bottle of water please? The man brought her a water, and she payed him again.
Lauren returned to her seat by the window. She looked out at the city. Cars and cabs sped down the street as Lo took a moment to enjoy her day. She loved not having something to do. Some people may call her a workaholic. She just called herself busy. She was, however, trying to juggle, school, desigining and a socal life. It wasn't always easy to have a balance between all thoes things. But she tried anyways. Lo took a sip of her water, and poured a bit of it into her coffee to cool it down.
Suddenly, Lo heard a voice comming from behind her. She turned to see who it was. Hi, I'm Clea, do you mind if I sit here? There aren't any more available seats. Lauren smiled up at the girl. She really did want to sit alone, but she didn't know how to say no. But who knows, this girl could turn out to be a good friend to Lo. She needed more of thoes. No problem, take a seat. She said motioning to the seat beside her.

A smile slipped across Clea's features as she used her free hand to pull the seat out a bit. A moment later, Clea moved in front of the chair, sitting down while she did. As she sat, Clea moved her cup filled with frappucinno on to the table. "Thank you"
Clea moved her hands to the sides of her body and smoothed her sweater, slightly pulling on her jeans as she got to the bottom. When she looked back up, Clea smiled at the girl once again, "Thanks for letting me sit here, I got kind of tired walking around the city, it's pretty big"
Clea laughed a small laugh before picking up her frappucinno and placing the straw between her lips. After she swallowed a sip, Clea lowered the cup again to ask, "So what's your name?"

coffee break ; Lauren studied the girl as she sat down across form her. She seemed sweet, in a rebelious kind of way. Her hair was cool. She held her mug tight in her hands as she once again raised it to her mouth. It was now cool enought to drink without fear of burning herself. The hot liquid on her burn did make it tingle though. The lid of her water bottle was sitting on the table. She picked it up and began playing with it as the girl infront of her spoke. Thanks for letting me sit here, I got kind of tired walking around the city, it's pretty big. Lauren nodded in agreement. I know exactly what you mean. Its not hard getting lost around here. She said as her eyes drifted back to the window.
So what's your name? Lauren looked back at Clea. I'm Lauren. Lexington. She said with a smile. Lauren always hated her last name. She thought it sounded rich, and she hated that. But, it was the name she was stuck with. So she would have to live with it.

Clea, looked over the girl in front of her; she had that California girl look, like other girls where she was from. She did seem a lot nicer though. Clea once again lifted her drink, and swallowed a sip of the icy drink, listening as the girl began to speak again.
As she finished speaking, Clea lowered her cup and nodded in agreement, "Tell me about it". After speaking, Clea lifted her drink once again, and drank down another sip. Clea lowered her cup, and sat it on the table as Lauren introduced herself, "Well, nice to meet you Lauren."
A smile slipped across Clea's face, before she said "My last name's Bardot, like Brigitte Bardot, the old movie star; I think we're related somehow. That's what my mom told me anyways." Clea shrugged her shoulders and laughed a little bit.
