[/blockquote]slim jean clad hip knocked the apartment door open after a moment of juggling keys with all the bags she held, allowing herself in she hurried through the apartment to her room where she dumped her various purchases on the floor and puffed out a sigh of relief. a whine from her newest tote bag reminded her of her main objective for returning home so soon in her shopping spree. usually she would have stayed out a little longer, perhaps spent more time with jude. but no, after starbucks and a quick walk through the park jensen had taken her leave to return home. on the way, however, she had dropped by a pet store to pick up various necessities for her favourite buy of the day. dropping to her knees she took ben, her new german shepherd puppy, out of the bag and laughed as he licked her nose. it tickled and was the cutest thing ever. putting him down on the floor, keeping a protective hand over him, she reached over with the other and pulled a blue dog collar out of one bag. this she buckled around his neck and examined the dog tag. ben 212-9853, it said. she’d had it craved while walking around the store picking up the odds and ends she thought would be necessary for the puppy.
letting the canine go she gave him a quick tap on the backside. "go on then, explore a bit. this is your new home". it wasn’t strange to talk to your pet now was it? surely heaps of people did it. the small thing went wobbling off and jensen stood, grabbing a few of her shopping bags to unpack. the dress and shoes she’d bought went straight into her wardrobe, to be forgotten about for another two weeks until she remembered she had them. everything else that she had bought that day was for the dog and she went about arranging everything around the house. food in the bottom cupboards of the kitchen, bowls and so on there too, his bed in her bedroom along with the numerous toys she had brought him.
satisfied with her 'work', jensen sat on the couch and turned on the tv, mindlessly flicking through the channels while waiting for valarie to come home. hopefully her 'flatmate' wouldn’t mind the idea of having a dog in their apartment. if she did then they were going to have a slight problem because, as far as jensen was concerned, ben was not going anywhere anytime soon. for the most part, if val didn't like ben then he could remain in her room. thank the lord these apartments didn't make them share the same room like the academy's dorms did. this was probably one of the best ideas she'd had, getting an apartment to live in.
